My name is Diogo Ferrer, and I am the creator of EXPANALOG. This name combines 'EXP' from experimentation and 'ANALOG' from analog. The term highlights the analog approach to adapting to challenges, seeking success through hands-on experience, trial, and error.

This is a project that goes beyond me. It represents the community of people who help me record videos, offer advice, and also the companies involved in developing and digitizing the photographs shared on this website.

In 2022, I moved from the mainland to Pico, and since then, I have found analog photography to be a captivating hobby. The island's unique landscape has been a constant source of inspiration for my photographs.

The choice of analog was a conscious decision because the absence of instant image visualization creates an environment conducive to calmness and meticulousness, allowing me to make mistakes and learn from each photograph.

Even when entrusting development to professionals, I strive to maintain the essence of analog photography. The specific rolls (currently using 35 and medium format) and attention to light metering highlight my approach. Light metering plays a crucial role in achieving better results, with precision being imperative to capture details and textures. Each choice is guided by a unique visual narrative, whether capturing everyday elements or stunning landscapes.
